Nashville Vacay

Sept 2nd:

What I did on my Labor Day weekend....

I visited the state of asdgf

Stoney & I left on Friday morning and headed on our way to Nashville, TN. It would take us about 5 1/2 hours to get there. We were doing great on time and enjoying the scenery when, about 2 hours into our journey we had to pull off the highway because of this:asdf Yes, we received a bubble wrap casualty. When we pulled over, I jumped out to pull it off and it wasn't even hooked on to anything, it was just resting on our hood.

So we got back on the highway and started out journey again. as

We were going to Nashville because my wonderful cousin Jasmine suggested that we meet her and Rodney somewhere for a trip. (Jasmine and Rodney live in Atl, GA and Nashville is the halfway meeting point.)

Finally, after no more highway casualties, we made it to Nashville. as

We actually stayed in Brentwood which is just a couple miles south of Nashville. Jasmine found the Hilton Brentwood Suites and it was awesome. I just wanted to hang out in the hotel half the time. :)

Our room was suite style so naturally we had a living room. as

A great King size bed, with a comfy mattress and bedding.

as

I mostly wanted to keep the bathroom for my own. I loved it.

as

Jazz and Rod's room was across the hall, their room number was as so of course we hung out there at night. Wink, Wink!

Anyways, we got to the hotel Friday afternoon and we were starving. So we got dressed in regular clothes, instead of pjs, and headed out to find some food. After stuffing our faces we decided to walk around the mall that was next door, in order to work off a little food. Jazz got these awesome Nike cleats for like $15. And I got some super cute playing cards. as

Saturday morning we finally went downtown.

First we went to the Parthenon. (Yes we flew to Greece.) JK, we went to the Nashville full size replica that was built in 1897.

The Gang as

Inside there was a 42 ft statue of Athena Parthenos. She was slightly scary.

as

There were also these huge bronze doors, that Stoney thought were really cool.

asas

When we were done on the inside we decided to walk around the park. We found a train and of course the boys had to disregard the sign.

Me, I played it safe. as

Around the park they had these really cool swings and I wanted to get a picture on one. But of course the only one that I could find available was not in the shade. (I wonder why.)

as

But the pix did turn out cute.

After we left the Parthenon we went to the sas

asWe got to see Elvis Presley's Gold Piano.

I got to go on stage with Tim McGraw! as

We also went on a studio tour to RCA Studio B. This was Elvis' favorite studio and he recorded over 250 songs here. There were also a lot of old time country stars who recorded here, but I only knew who 2 of them were.

asThis piano sits in the studio. Elvis would sit and play to warm up his voice along with the band.

On Sunday we went down to visit the Grand Ole Opry. I would have loved to go to a concert there, but there wasn't anyone we knew playing and tickets were a little too expensive for me. But we wanted to go to prove that we had been there done that.

as

After taking pictures outside we needed to get into some AC, so we went to The Opry Shop.

I got a book standas as& cute Grand Ole Opry tee.

Then we went next door to the Opry Mills Mall. It reminded we a lot of AZ Mills. We walked around and did some more shopping. Then at lunch time we went to Dave & Busters. We waited forver for our food and drinks. After our waiting and stuffing was complete, we hit the arcade for some fun.

We ended up winning 1113 tickets. So we again went shopping and got these: as

After a long day of shopping and playing games we were ready to leave. We were driving through the parking lot I was looking at the signs and noticed that something was off.

as?? I guess they make all their speed limits even numbers.

On our way back to the hotel we passed by this resturant. We didn't get to eat there but I want a picture of it anyways. So thanks Rodney for stopping in the middle of the street so I could get the shot.

as

Monday morning we slept in because we didn't want to leave. But we had to check out of our hotel and needed to get back home.

as

We had a so much fun with Jazz & Rod!! From our everyday ice cream trips, our memorable Taco Bell run, and the now infamous glass elevator scene!! We are definately ready for another awesome trip!! New York sounds great!!
