Stoney and I have had lot of new things happen over the last couple of months. I know I told some people that I would have my website up and running as soon as we moved, but I have had a little trouble getting things under way. I am sorry. I will try to update every week or so, because I know there are some people out there who are addicted to blogging, (like Whitney and I.)
So here we go:
On January 8th at 5am, we climbed into our moving truck. I took a lot of pictures during our journey, because there is not a lot to do in the cab of a truck, so that was how I passed the time. And just so you know that all the pictures from our move were taken from the truck, that was on the highway going 60-70 mph. We have an awesome camera.
We headed North to Flagstaff. By the time we reached the outskirts the sun was rising and this is the site we saw:
There was snow everywhere!! It was beautiful white powder.
The sun had not hit this field yet so it still had a misty overhang.
Here is someone's little farm. It looked so quaint.
Here is another awesome shot. Notice the little frozen stream.
Once we passed Flagstaff we started East toward New Mexico
.
In NM there was still snow, the little mountains reminded me of Sedona, they had a little bit of a red tint.
Here was a small river with a film of ice over the top.
Here is another little mountain covered with pretty snow.
If you haven't figured it out by now I love taking pictures of snow! It just makes even desert landscapes looking pretty.
Also in NM we saw someone we knew. Blake's were all over NM.
We got to the Texas/New Mexico border at night. Our camera could not register images very well so this is the only Texas sign we got, but I have to say it is the best.
It says "Don't Mess With Texas"
We stayed the night in Amarillo at a brand new hotel. Our room was a suite but wasn't expensive, I was sad we couldn't stay there longer. The next morning we woke up to blue sunny skies.
We drove past the biggest Cross in the Western Hemisphere.
I guess it is true that everything is bigger in Texas!!
Then there was nothing but wide open spaces,
and windmills.
We were finally out of Texas and started to cross the state of
Oklahoma was still flat like Texas, but trees were starting to become more and more visable.
Right outside Oklahoma City, clouds showed up and they looked awesome.
We finally reached the City.
We passed Sonic headquarters and a Toby Keith store.
We passed Stoney's favorite.
Then we passed Tinker Air Force Base, which was right next to the highway.

We saw grounded planes.
After we got out of the City we crossed the huge Eufaula Lake.
Then we drove through the small home town of Carrie Underwood.
We finally crossed our last state line.
We crossed the Arkansas River which was right next to the highway.
There were trees everywhere, we couldn't see anything past them.
We saw a pink sunset to end our two days of travel.
When we got to our new house there was a beautiful Cardinal waiting in our tree.
Our trip spand across 5 states and lasted 23 hours. We were shown a bunch of different sites and landscapes. I took a lot of pictures and got to drive a big truck. Stoney finally discovered what Flying J's are, he loved stopping there. Everytime we entered a new city he would tell me to lookout for a Flying J. It was quiet a journey but was fun to see all the different sites. We were greatly blessed with awesome weather and great road conditions.
I bet you are wondering what Stoney & I have been doing for the last 3 months....
We moved to a town, that has population 23,000. The biggest store here is Super Wal-mart, so we go there a lot. It kind of sucks because I am a Target girl. The closest Target, Best Buy, Michaels, the mall, etc, are about 20 minutes away. Our town movie theater has 8 screens. A bowling alley was built in town last summer. Our Main Street is an actual "Main Street", it is where most of the stores and fast food places are. Most people don't have fencing around their yards, which is something is get use to. A lot of people have farms animals, just mostly the basics, chickens, horses, goats, etc. Everyone here goes fishing, hunting, and other outdoor stuff. Stoney & I just got our fishing licenses, how exciting. So it is a little bit of a different world down here, but we are having fun.
This is our little home.
We are living on Stoney's Grandma's property. There is a shop downstairs and we live up stairs. Our apartment is about 800 square feet. When you walk in the front door you go straight up the stairs. Then you walk into the living room, ahead is the kitchen. On your right is the bathroom and behind you is our bedroom. We were quite spoiled in AZ with our house situation, so this has been quite an experience to get use to the smaller space. I will post some pictures of what the inside looks like when it is clean.
We pay rent by working around the property. Stoney helps with all sorts of work. Right now he has been working on getting the garden up and running. He has cleared out bushes and vines, built two new garden beds, added a lot of dirt and now he is working on putting a fence all around it. He has done a really good job.
He has learned how to drive a tractor, of course. He loves using the tractor his Grandparents have. He uses it every chance he gets. Now he wants a tractor, mostly he wants a Kubota. I don't know if you have heard of that brand, but they are really nice and really expensive. A brand new Kubota tractor is about $20,000 or so!!
Here he is clearing out some bushes and roots.
Here is another picture of the clearing project. If you can't see it in this picture, Stoney is totally chewing his tongue. He chews his tongue all the time, he does it when he concentrates on a task. It is so funny because he doesn't realize he does it. So next time you are around him just watch, he will eventually start chewing.
These are the garden beds Stoney has helped to build, now they just need to be filled with dirt. .jpg)
Here is all the dirt that came. Stoney's Grandma, we call her Magar, is out helping.
The dirt being loaded. Of course the tractor had to be used! .jpg)
Yes, I did help and we had a lot of fun.
The garden beds were filled with a lot of dirt and it was hard work, but now things look great. Onions, tomatoes, and strawberries have already been planted. I haven't taken pictures of the finished product, but I will get those out soon.
We were moving dirt the last week in Febuary. The first week in March, this is what is looked like outside. .jpg)
Yes we recieved snow the first week in March!! It was a lot of fun and very pretty. .jpg)
We went outside and had a small snowball fight. .jpg)
Then Stoney started to build a snowman.
This was the finished product, he was just taller than Stoney. .jpg)
The next morning I went outside and took more snow pictures. There was sunny blue skies and the snow was starting to melt.
Here are garden beds, covered in snow. .jpg)
I found an awesome looking branch. The snow had formed on this branch to look just like cotton balls.
It just looked so cool. .jpg)
This is another picture of where we live. Our house is on the right, Stoney's Grandparents in the middle, and another rentor on the left.
We went to a Monster Truck Show in January.
It was fun, but Alltel Arena is small so there were only 5 trucks. Before the start we picked trucks to see which one would do better at the contests.
This was the truck I picked, it was Predator. My truck won the freestyle contest.
Stoney was Wildboar, and his truck won the dount spinning contest. .jpg)
The also had 3 street bike riders that came out at "half-time" to do tricks, they were pretty good. .jpg)
